AfROB is a pan-African community dedicated to advancing robotics adoption, commercialization, education, and research. We connect individuals, institutions, and companies to build a thriving ecosystem that solves African challenges through technology.
We are primarily a distributed network with members in over 56 countries. However, we have active chapters and partner hubs across the continent. You can use our Interactive Map to find a lab, startup, or research center near you.
AfROB was founded in 2012 by Dr. G. Ayorkor Korsah and Prof. Ken Goldberg. It is currently led by a diverse executive team comprising leading academics and industry professionals committed to the continent's technological growth.
Simply click the "Join the Community" button on our home page. You will be asked to fill out a brief profile so we can match you with the right opportunities and peers in your region.
Our "State of Robotics in Africa" report is a collaborative effort. We issue a Call for Data and Papers every year. If you are a researcher or institution, keep an eye on our Research page or subscribe to our newsletter for submission deadlines.
The AfROB Annual Summit is our flagship event, bringing together the brightest minds in African robotics. It features keynote speakers, research presentations, policy workshops, and a showcase of the latest robotics innovations from the continent.
